Fritz and his family spent a year in 1955 in Munich Germany which led to his junior year studies at the University of Munich in 1961. Mary heard about Fritz's trip and photographs which she came to see because she was planning a trip to Europe with her friend Clarice the summer of 1962. When Mary got back from Europe that fall they met again by chance and the rest his history. They married in Madison June 19, 1965 when Fritz finished his master's in meteorology and Mary received her bachelor's in social work both at the University of Wisconsin. Anneliese was born December 4, 1967 and Marta Fleur March 20, 1970 in Madison. When Fritz got his PhD in 1971 also at UW Madison, they moved to Boulder CO where Fritz had a post doc at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. They moved to Annapolis MD in 1974 to begin Fritz's 30 year career at NASA. In 1975 Fritz took the family to Paris France for six months where he served as a visiting scientist. Katherine Etta was born August 6, 1977 and they adopted Matthew Frederick the day after his berth July 1, 1982. Mary purchased the Camp Hasler cabin in Three Lakes WI in 1992 to begin almost 30 years of summers on Laurel Lake. When Fritz retired in 2004 they joined all their kids and grandkids in Utah, spending 7 month winters in Lindon and 5 month summers in Wisconsin. As Fritz begins this book he and Mary have spent the winter of 1920-21 quarantined in St George Utah. They just celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary. They now have 12 grandkids and a new great grandson and great granddaughter.
