More DescriptionAbstract:There is a high possibility of financial and economic leverage through tourism in Papua New Guinea (PNG), the real gold of the PNG lies in the tourism industry, it can generate enough financial sustainability for every household who are living in PNG, further with the introduction of sustainable tourism it can also become a self-sustained economy in the long run. Per capita income is likely to be increased with the flow of tourists and foreign fund in the country; there is a possibility of overall economic development and growth of PNG through the tourism industry. It has diverse cultures and the country has around 852 languages and it is abundantly endowed with natural beauties and natural resources. The researcher has highlighted about the PNG positively based on the primary observation of various cultural events which were conducted at PNG and day to day life events of the people of PNG. In this article sustainability tourism is projected as the sole objective to develop the economy of the PNG by collaborating with the locals to execute the sustainable tourism model. A BTPM (Basic Training, Tourist cottage, Promotion & Marketing) Model is proposed for the sustainable development of the tourism industry in the country.Key Words: Tourism, Per Capita Income, economic development, sustainability, BTPM Model
