Jabez was a studious young man and whilst she worried about the privations that lay ahead,Sarah never realised the extent of the violence which would be unleashed upon them.Nathan Larkin was apprenticed to his father, the village blacksmith, learning the secrets of forging iron, when one dark evening he found Sarah and Jabez close to death.
