More DescriptionThe Magic Wilderness is set in Georgia's' Okefenokee Swamp four thousand years ago when it was primitive wild and unspoiled by the presence of modern man. Magic humans from the old countries migrated to that place bringing with them different species of faeries. When they arrived, the swamp wasn't a swamp at all but a shallow lake not yet overgrown with vegetation. In those faraway days the lake and surrounding woods were filled with local magical creatures. Native Americans had their own tales of faeries and one of those was called the Nan-O-Push or little people of the woods. Obstinate, cunning, yet cowardly these little people caused no end of aggravations for the human travelers. Other characters of the Magic Wilderness, Daughters of the Sun sang beautiful love songs tempting then capturing unwary men into a life of servitude and casual cruelty. With the mixture of the migrants and faeries from the old and new worlds the stage was set for wars intrigues, unbelievable magic, and the inevitable love story. Tristan the son of a clan leader and Cailin were bound to love each other. She was the daughter of an outcast daughter of the sun who had fallen in love with a human so was exiled into The Magic Wilderness from the dimension where those beautiful women practiced their art of seduction and cruelty. Tristan was suspected of cowardice so was sent into the magic wilderness to prove his bravery and to test his resistance to the charms and songs of the Daughters-Of-The Sun. One of his companions slipped off into the night and into the arms of one of those temptresses, never to be the same again. While exploring the interior of the magic wilderness Tristan discovered the shadow people, that made their homes in the shadows of trees during the day only to come out at night. He came to know Taurus the black panther who was the very example of power, and goodness. He could change from a panther to a human with great power and was capable of defeating numbers of his enemies in battle than one would think possible. Gilperrin and Perrinpeth twin elves with lovely long blonde hair accompanied him part way through the magic wilderness sharing in his adventures. A little later he meets Cailin. And with her magic flute she could call the faeries to her in great numbers. Later they would be called on to fight the evil ones ancient enemies that had migrated along with them over the ocean, their intrigues and cruelties hidden behind masks of kindness. With the assistance of assasian faeries the two lovers were able to defeat those who attempted to rule the Magic Wilderness.
