In order to survive Shadow has learned to move through the night as an experienced thief, stealing what she can pawn and saving up money to leave Rashfall. She has high hopes of starting over in a place where names don't matter. Desperate to achieve her goal, Shadow accepts a job of stealing a very rare and powerful jewel in a neighboring city. She knew this would be the job that would help her accomplish her goal starting over, away from Rashfall. It was supposed to be a simple in and out job. She knew she could get in and out easily, however there was one thing she didn't count on and that was falling in love.Ryder si Definti is the only son to Leo si Definti, magistrate over the city of Demetrio in Rashfall. His family's main purpose is guard the Amber Jewel of Demetrio, a gemstone of power used to protect the country.
