Author Biography
Parks, Richard (Author)
Parke Godwin was born on January 28, 1929. He joined the army as a young man and did top secret work at critical radio listening posts during the Korean conflict. Before becoming a writer, he was professional actor. He published his first book, Darker Places, at the age of 43. During his lifetime he wrote 14 novels, two story collections, and two plays. His works include The Snake Oil Wars, Firelord, Beloved Exile, Robin Hood in Sherwood, Robin and the King, and Waiting For the Galactic Bus. He also wrote three books in collaboration with Marvin Kaye entitled The Masters of Solitude, Wintermind, and A Cold Blue Light. He wrote Watch By Moonlight and The Lovers: the Legend of Trystan and Yseult under the pseudonym Jane Hawks. His work has appeared in several anthologies and his short story Influencing the Hell out of Time and Teresa Golowitz was the basis of a television episode of The Twilight Zone. He won the World Fantasy Award for his novella The Fire When It Comes. He died of natural causes on June 19, 2013 at the age of 84.
