Part 1. Tells the stories of William Lusted bc.1822 Sussex, his siblings and his children by Irish immigrant Catherine Grady. Locations: Sussex in the UK, Surry Hills and Bathurst, NSW.
Part 2. This section covers the stories of Sarah Lusted b. 1845, her siblings and her children by Italian-Swiss immigrant, Jacob Menghini and second husband, James Beath. Locations: Poschiavo, Switzerland and Wattle Flat, NSW.
Part 3. Tells the stories of two sisters, Natalina and Maria Grasso from Orero, Genoa, Italy who arrived with their husbands: Bartholomew Pedemont and Frances Ghiggino and settled on the Sofala Goldfields in the early 1860's.
Part 4. Tells the stories of the 3 Pedemont brothers, Joseph b. 1860 and wife Mary Menghini; Nicholas b. 1862 and wife Margaret Menghini; Frances b. 1863 and wife Adelaide Crittle as they leave the goldfields and establish businesses in Bathurst c. 1880's and then Sydney and Ashfield c. 1890's.
Part 5. The book explores the lives of Nicholas and Margaret Pedemont, as they establish their home "Ridgelands" on Norfolk Road, Epping in 1912. The book concludes by telling the stories of each of their children: Ethel (m. Hawkins), Alice (m. Gallen), Edward (m. Lawry), Hubert (m. Beers), Frank, Eric (m. Walsh), Kathleen (m. Morris) and Edna (m.Harris).
