Please accept this cookbook as a guide. Cooking can be fun if you relax. You will find that in several recipes I refer to a 2 finger pinch of this or a dash or a glug glug of that. That's what I love about cooking. It is not an exact science. Play with it. Do what is right for you. Try new things. If you can find an easier way, go for it. However, there are those of you who just don't enjoy cooking. That's okay too. Be true to yourself. Read the cookbook and enjoy it. You just might find something that will peak your interest and you might want to give it a try. Go ahead, it will be fun. One time, several years ago, I had to do a crafts project, which would be part of a fundraiser for the local Soroptimists, of which I was a member. Elaine, a friend at work offered to help me decorate filled jars. I envisioned the donated filled jars being sold at the Craft Fair and bringing in a large profit to the Soroptimists. I brought all my supplies to Elaine's house on a Saturday morning and we proceeded to decorate the filled jars. I should say that Elaine decorated jars. I did two of them and managed to burn all ten of my fingertips with the glue gun and the two jars that I decorated looked absolutely awful. In the same amount of time, Elaine decorated six jars that were absolutely beautiful. I finally decided that one has to come to terms with one's strengths as well as one's weaknesses. Elaine hated to cook and I certainly didn't do well with crafts. I agreed to cook dinner for her family for one week and she agreed to finish my project. Now everyone was happy and the Soroptimists were able to cash in on all that talent. I hope some of my stories have put a smile on your face.
