More DescriptionIn the country of Cancordia, on the planet D'az, in an isolated Fisherfolk village set on the edge of the sea, people are dying for lack of a healer. The world seems to be falling apart. Every attempt to communicate with the rest of the country is met with silence. No one from the outside has visited them in a long time. Someone must find out what is going on; someone must bring back help. A crusty and bitter old sea captain is persuaded to take the job. The orphan girl, Ja'Nil, is reluctantly recruited as her assistant. In fact, Ja'Nil is so reluctant that she has to be kicked, prodded, pushed and finally tossed onto the ship. But Ja'Nil is resilient, and life at sea and on the road has its exciting, if deadly, moments. The further Ja'Nil travels and the more people she meets, from traveling players, to warlords, to deadly slavers, to lords and ladies with mysterious and powerful gifts, the more she realizes that it is not just her small Fisherfolk village that is in trouble, but the entire country of Cancordia. She realizes something else, too. As incredible as it sounds, she is the one who must save her world.
