More DescriptionA Saracen infant girl is rescued by a Teutonic Knight from her burning village. In Koenigsburg he makes a Noblewoman out of her, but keeps her isolated on an island. She becomes acquainted with a mysterious man from Africa in an unusual way. He convinces he she has a calling - to purge the society of the cities of the Baltic Sea of their corrupt vicars, who are led by the Vicar of Koenigsburg. She accepts this quest, accompanied by squires of the Koenigsburg Teutonic Knights and the mysterious African. Spying, cunning and physical might are the elements of her forces, aided by the African, who provides technology not available to anyone else in the 14th century. The characters, good and evil, cover a broad spectrum of human foibles, combat techniques, and sexual activities. Competing religions are treated objectively by most parties. Not so with competing business interests. The heroine finds love in a comrade in arms, the African never reveals all of himself, the Vicars are all as corrupt as their power allows. This power varies from vicar to vicar, which isn't shared across space. The power of the protagonist forces derives from their diversity of talents, taken together.
