More DescriptionThe book is a biographical text on an administrative wizard cum teachers' teacher named Bako Mohammed Kankimes. Kankimes was like a treasure chest adorned with pearls of the beauty of honesty, the brilliant lure of gold of simplicity, silver of diligence, the fragrance of religious devotion, and the diamond cool charisma of calmness and extreme emotional control. He earned the name 'Kankimes' right from his youthful age because he was not enticed by anything that was not his. To him, a good name is far better than riches. As such, he had no quest for a plethora of luxurious lives to the hilt. This does not suggest that he did not like enjoyment or luxury to a certain degree. Of course, not. Luxury is one of the bounties of this world and an index of happiness. He, however, was not lured by luxuries and sensualities to insatiable degrees. This made him a role model to the younger ones. As a result, one of his closest allies, Hon. Abubakar Dashe (former Chairman, Kanam Local Government Area) nicknamed his son (Mahmud) Kankimes. He was like a bee that lands on fragrant flowers and fresh branches. The aura of euphoria in his life did not transmute into a life full of mirth and magnanimity as he had his lean days. But, the see-saw of events did not affect him much, because he was never mean or narrow-minded. I wonder why, when clouds of sorrow and grief appeared on the horizon of his mind, they glided off with the ease of a gust of breeze. As a result, he experienced and vanquished quietly several tragedies, agonies, vehement opposition and prejudices at the family level, at his place of work, and in the community at large.
In a bid to keep his track record evergreen for posterity, I decided to write this biographic text. Uniquely written in an easy-to-understand language, the book encapsulates twelve chapters sufficiently covering the following: His Birth, Education and Work Experience; A Social cum Cultural Paragon; Political Strategist and a Grassroots Mobiliser; An Esteemed Educationist; Educationist cum Entrepreneur; An Adept Leader; His Views on Leadership as the Pathway to Peaceful Co-Existence and Progress; His Ascension to the Throne as the 7th Pankwal Kagyal; His Untold Trials and Tribulations; Death: He Saw it Coming? ; Lending Substances to an Achiever and Some of His Writings: Papers, Speeches, and Official Writings; and finally, Tributes.
