What Amazon readers are saying - "The Spark is a great, fast paced book that is very relative to our current political situation. The familiarity of the author's background in policing is evident and brings a "truth" to the story line."
"The Spark reads like a Tom Clancy thriller page turner. The characters in the novel are well developed and the realistic plot intertwines real world current events with potential future cultural and political ramifications. I couldn't put the book down until I finished."
"Great read. The concept was interesting and rings scarily true to the political climate in the U.S. right now. I thought the characters were realistic and the book shows how vulnerable we all are to an attack of this nature."
Praise for the author -- "This well-documented work (Shots Fired) will be a useful starting point for both academics and the general public engaging in the gun debate." Library Journal
On Race, Riots and The Police - "Wholeheartedly recommended for public library collections." Booklist
From the author - The Spark is my first swing at a novel. I started with the knowledge a terror attack is the number one threat causing sleepless nights for police officials. Sporting venues, like the NBA All-Star Game, are particularly vulnerable events. A terror attack with racial underpinnings has the potential for enormous damage. I hope this book can serve both as a reminder of the vigilance needed to prevent an attack, but also as a warning of the risks to our country inherent in an intolerant and angry political climate.
