Evelyn Gertrude (Richter) Broussard was given a blank book to fill in stories of her life while she was in her late 80s. She lived until she was 93 and slowly filled the book up with stories of her early life, married life, and after her husband passed away. Her story began in Germany, where she was born, and continues with her trying to leave Europe during WWII to be reunited with her parents in America. Then her story goes on to detail the colorful events of her life in America.

Then her story goes on to detail the colorful events of her life in America.
When she died in 2019, some of her grandchildren came together with the idea of typing up what she wrote in her journal to share with everyone who was interested in her story. She holds a special place in many hearts.
