More DescriptionIn these twelve stories, gathered here for the first time, we meet ordinary human beings as seen through the eyes of a nihilist. It is so sad to wake up and realize that life is what it is and that if there is any hope it is only in oblivion, madness and despair. We meet a man whose only reason for living is to play a game of chess with Kasparov whom he beat when Kasparov was 11 years old. And another, who has died and either does not realize it or does not accept it. Or one who has just died but wants to cling to life for a few minutes more. Failed, disappointed, hopeless, cynical, sick men. We are shown for what we are without being ashamed to look at ourselves in an imaginary mirror. We walk through hallways like in an Escher drawing, looking to find our cure in the image of a fata morgana. We try to escape but we cannot. The only thing that keeps us alive is taking refuge in our vain memories as Eduardo does. Are we therefore to be left with no hope? Is it possible to believe in something or someone...? Perhaps we can find the answer together.
