More DescriptionThis is an epic saga in which technology meets magic. Our hero starts out sunbaked and naked, and the fate of thousands of worlds will come to rest on his shoulders. The enemy is a race of space-faring vampires who have a commerce system dealing in bloodwine the blood their subjugated citizens seasoned with lust, ecstasy, pain, and terror the only means they have of feeling anything to drink it from the veins of their craftily enslaved. Our hero, an exiled supercriminal from the distant past, discovers upon awakening from cryostasis aboard a penal colony ship his homeworld is an Eden. Slowly he finds that the primary fruit in this garden, however, is human blood. Then he must develop alchemy and technology to begin a defensive offense against the Empire of the Undead Spider. He is also faced with the awareness that to combat the enemy, he must become much like them, ruthless. There are frightening parallels our hero discovers between the evil empire, what he must become, and the world he left behind ours!
