More Description
In the visual arts, color theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. Choosing colors is a careful business, and not just when it comes to painting.
My original idea was to provide a book dealing with the basic principles of textile dyeing and coloration and related subjects. I began to realize that, despite all the wonderful technology available for textile coloration, we really understand so very little of the fundamentals. I firmly believe that the optimum choice, use, control, and adaptation of modern coloration technology can only be achieved through a sound understanding of basic principles. This teaching material is the fruit of my efforts to provide that understanding. Because of the wide range of topics included, some subjects only receive superficial coverage. Those that are presented in short obviously reflect my personal bias.
