In the tradition of "the blind seer," Chris Wise juxtaposes somnolence and consciousness, sanity and madness, being sighted and blind; these establish the special and known worlds where Wise weaves poetry filled with symbolism, mythology, religion, and imagery.THE NARRATIVE:Heartbroken and full of regret, Chris abuses sleeping pills and many other things until his consciousness divided from his body and entered the desert. In this magical place, insects and animals speak, forgotten gods roam, and the anti-Christ waits in gestation. This is a world of similes and symbols, rhymes, and DMT-like entities. Madness awaits in bills and heartbreak. Purpose and wisdom prove harder to discover.BUT WHAT OF OUR HERO? The insects and elves have transformed; the larvae soon will too.
