This story begins when Timmy overhears the human kids in the house talking about going to school and he gets excited that maybe HE could go to school, too! So, everything gets set up for school on the dining room table for Timmy & his friends: Donna the Dish, Fred the Fork, Sally the Spoon, and Nick the Knife. They are having fun and learning a lot!
Unfortunately, Timmy has heard Stevie, one of the human children, coming home from third grade crying almost every day! When Timmy & his friends are given an assignment to write about something important, Timmy decides to write about what is happening to Stevie.
