More Description"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living." Sir David AttenboroughI grew up in Bozen, South Tyrol, the most northernly province in Italy and I have spent my life in the United Kingdom.I have been a passionate traveller for over 50 years and have visited over 200 countries: all 67 countries and dependencies of Europe; all of the seven natural and ancient wonders of the world; all of the BBC's '50 Places to See Before You Die' and finally I took part in a Canadian expedition to the Antarctic and completed it. I also completed my childhood ambition of seeing the Taj Mahal, going on an African safari and taking part in Rio Carnival. Through my involvement in adventure travel internationally, I have trekked and mountaineered through the most wild environments and observed the magnificent wildlife and marine life on all seven continents. I started supporting my first charity when I witnessed the horrors of the Biafran War and it is my hope that the publication of this book will raise money for these charities. All proceeds from the sale of this book will go to the following charities: Médecins Sans Frontières, Plan International, UNICEF, Children in Need, Oxfam, Cancer Research and Children's Cancer Trust. So, what's next? I hope to visit North Korea to complete my overland trip of the Silk Road and to trek through the jungles of Papua New Guinea. I will also continue to support the poor people in Gambia.I am now content and happy to have achieved my life ambitions and I still look forward in awe of the wonderful places I have yet to see. I hope this autobiography will inspire and enthuse others to step outside and explore this wonderful world we are lucky to live in. These are my memoirs.
