More DescriptionTO THE STARS contains space battles, pirates, marauders, assassins, sentient computers, aliens, humor, and romance. For the hockey fans, it contains futuristic hockey games played in zero gravity arenas. Wilson Enterprises built a heavily armed trade ship. However, a Galactic-wide recession resulted in no buyer for the ship. Thomas Wilson had repeatedly told his family he would forsake the family business and become a spacer. Thus, his father gave him the ship as his inheritance. Thomas named his ship Demon because, years earlier, the Principal called him a demon when she expelled him from school. She expelled him when he learned to fight back. This one incident changed his life. With a magnificent ship, Captain Thomas Wilson sets out to reopen trade with the Outer Planets and the Rim Worlds. These planets have an abundance of rare earth minerals but have been cut off from the riches of the Core Planets. No unarmed civilian ship would ever venture outside the protection of the Core Planets, but the Demon is not an ordinary ship. The Demon ship has military-grade shields, two artillery cannons, four rapid-fire particle beam cannons mounted on turrets with full rotation, four missile launchers, and two torpedo tubes. The ship established its ability to survive, which impressed the navy. The navy hires the Demon to deliver arms to the Outer Planets and Rim since they were in the direct path of the expected invasion by the Hostis aliens. The navy also wanted Thomas to convince these worlds to allow the establishment of military bases on their planet, along with space-based defense grids. The Rim Worlds would be the first to be attacked by the invading Hostis. The navy expected every inhabitant in the Rim to be killed but hoped they would slow down the invasion. Thomas has his own agenda, and the ship's sentient AI has its own desires. Running guns makes the Demon an attractive prize, with every pirate ship wanting the rich cargo. Avoiding a fight was not an option. Then, Thomas meets Suzanna.
