Touch of Fire

The soft growl of the lioness echoed in the savannah. Leda closed her eyes and focused on her qi. Fire, my kin. I summon our pact. Raze this field and scorch it black. Leda's body lurched forward and she felt the tingling sensation of making. Never before had she tried to torch something so vast without the aid of fire oils. Starting campfires and lighting candles were easy. Something this size was unthinkable, but she had to try. There were too many lions in the field. She had to even their odds. One lion growled in annoyance, and then another. One by one they jumped up from their hiding places and drifted further away. She didnt answer, still caught in her spell. Leda! The grass erupted into flame and Grey snatched the injured man and threw him over his shoulder, running for cover. The field smoldered, the fire gaining strength as the breeze freshened. A wave of flame flickered all around them. You did it, mistress, Seelie said in awe. The savannah is burning. Grey met up with them and turned around to see Ledas handiwork. The flame was feeding. He looked down at Leda, the wounded man still in his arms. I didnt realize fire faes could create that much fire. Leda stared up at him. Neither did I.
