Let your inner child lead you there.From the author: This book shares my story: of being abandoned by our mother at the age of 7, and the accompanying belief of being unwanted and unworthy, of finally reconnecting with my inner child, and a path to unconditional love for myself and others. I share how in my attempt to avoid further abandonment, I end up abandoning my own needs and desires by conforming and adapting to the expectations of others until finally hitting rock bottom. Outwardly, I was a good obedient daughter, an accomplished athlete, and a respected physician. On the inside, there was a growing deep pain and loneliness that I would continually ignore. When I finally had no choice but to face that pain and stop neglecting my "inner little one," everything changed.I prioritized listening to myself and that still small voice. I chose to take only those actions that felt authentic to me or that increased my joy. With joy and authenticity as my compass, life unfolded in sequences of beautiful coincidences. At the end of the book, I summarize my lessons learned ("gem lessons") on the path to unconditional self-love in hopes that the reader will also discover the treasure within themselves on this journey called life.
