More DescriptionUnderstanding represents a revolution in thought and the history of thought, transforming concepts of experience and self, knowledge and reality. It is part of an original ontology, answering questions asked repeatedly through the ages, considered by some to be unanswerable. Concepts of mind and causation are dismissed. Matter and mechanics are redefined. Space and time are distinguished and clarified. It is a rational system and intuitive. Old systems are collapsed and new ones are created for a new world. The challenge of turning around the history of philosophy, science and theology must be shared. This new Ontology will provide a tool for giving it substance, the substance of being. It is also an epistemology. Being is identified as idea and idea is identified as knowledge that is known. Dr. Albaugh's series, entitled Ontology, currently lists 45 volumes. Understanding is volume number 36. The others will become available through Amazon in meaningful order. He is an independent philosopher, living in Des Moines with his wife, Lynda, and their animals. They have four children. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy and taught philosophy for many years.
