Lamperti, Giovanni B. (Author)
Giovanni B. Lamperti, a voice teacher, was born in Milan, Italy in 1839. Lamperti studied voice and piano at the Milan Conservatory, where his father was a teacher, and also served as an accompanist for his father's class.

Lamperti began teaching in Milan, but then moved to Germany. He taught in Dresden for 20 years, and then in Berlin. He published several collections of vocal exercises, many of which, including Thirty Preparatory Vocalises: For Soprano, Twelve Solfeggi for Soprano or Mezzo-Soprano or Tenor, and Twenty-nine Preparatory Vocalises for Alto, are still used today. He is also the author of The Technics of Bel Canto and Vocal Wisdom: Maxims of G. B. Lamperti.

Giovanni B. Lamperti died in Berlin, Germany in 1910.
