The slightest event can cause a shock wave, that starts as a ripple, then grows and grows like a tsunami, until havoc erupts, sometimes terminally. Vulnerable is a story about a young woman named Lily, who has led a happy, comfortable life, in the shelter of her family home. She has not been very successful with her few boyfriends, unlike her best friend, Ruth, who makes up for her failings. Tragedy and heartache enter her life, leaving her vulnerable to the charms of a man named Brett, who seems too good to be true. Their relationship blossoms until Lily discovers Brett's astonishing behaviour, which causes Lily to question the intentions of this erratic man. The arrival of her first child and the unconditional love she feels for her, help paper over the cracks appearing in their relationship, while Brett's business venture introduces gambling, drugs, and sexual deviation into his lifestyle. As Brett becomes lost in his world of excess, life becomes unbearable for Lily, until her friendship with a woman who is an enigma, offers her a possible way out.
