More DescriptionIn this novel of a screenplay a brother Solomon (former Eritrean soldier) and his sister Bethel (a store clerk) employed at a local Virginia store complicates the life of their love struck (soon to be divorced) store manager Mike as he was falling in love with the beautiful Eritrean store clerk. After a robbery gone wrong, he quickly loses her to deportation back to Eritrea. Determined not to give up, Mike builds a boat, takes a crash course to learn the country, the politics, and the customs. Mike along with his three kids (Young Dan, Naomi, and Angelina) in tow sets out to get into Eritrea and find his princess.Aside from the political satire and various opinions of progress Eritrea has one of the best colonial architectural structures in the world. Their cultures remain intact, diverse, and colorful with nine ethnic groups that are interesting subjects for cultural immersion. Mike encounters a few obstacles (like having to escape SAWA military prison) and find Bethel. After arriving in Massawa Eritrea and getting trained up on camel trekking 101 Mike and kids begin their journey to visit the villages of all nine tribes (Afar, Bilen, Hedareb, Kunama, Nara, Rashaida, Saho, Tigre, and Tigrinya). While young Dan gets surprised by seeing a real live baby goat for the first time; Angelina and Naomi are enjoying dressing up in cultural dress, playing with the kids, and making Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter dancing videos. Besides running from the Eritrean National Service guards and losing his kids Mike has so much to figure out in this international adventure.
