The phenomenon of failure is organizations is too multi-faceted to make a `grand theory of organizational failure′ but best when highlighted by one or more of these four aspects. This book presents failure′ as a relative concept as t the expectations and strategies of stakeholders putting a claim in the performance of the organization and the notion of success. It challenges future research in this field to combine economic and non-economic performance measures to asses organizational tendencies toward success and failure and to differentiate failure as process and failure as an outcome.
