This is the fourth and final selection of articles by Marie Thérèse d'Alverny to be published by Variorum. It contains studies on the late 12th-century theologian Alain de Lille and on other writings, including a vernacular, heretical version of the Lord's Prayer; an academic sermon on the prophecies surrounding Christ's birth; and a text on the symbolic significance of the various parts of a church and its furniture. D'Alverny explores theologians' attitudes to Islam and Arabic learning, and to women. Bernard Itier (d.1225), the librarian of the French monastery, St Martial de Limoges, and the practice of magic in the same monastery are the subject of three further articles. Most of the pieces include editions of previously unedited texts. The first article discusses editing medieval texts in general; the last gives an example of what a Medieval scribe did with texts.Ceci est le quatrième et dernier volume d'articles écrits par Marie-Thérèse d'Alverny a être publié par Variorum.
